Arik Air flies from 2 main hubs, Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. The airline is only 14 years old, but has, in that time, grown into a successful international and domestic passenger service.
It all started when Nigeria Airways was liquidated in 2002. Arik Air’s Chairman, Sir Joseph Arumemi-Ikhide (KSG, CON) saw a gap in the market and a corporate jet business was born. In 2006, the company took over some of Nigeria Airway’s facilities and became a public carrier service. At first, the routes were only domestic, but today Arik Air flies from Lagos to Johannesburg, London, Amsterdam, Miami and many more international destinations.
1. Arik Air won Best Safety and Security Conscious Airline in West and Central Africa (2010-2014).
2. In 2014 Arik Air was awarded Best African airline.
3. Whether you’re flying in Africa or abroad, they’re a great value for money option.
Their fleet of 26 fuel efficient and well-maintained aircraft ranges from Hawkers to Airbuses that carry as many as 237 passengers.
